Junior ResearcherDuties and Responsibilities
Conduct cancer-related research focused on nutrition and cancer risk and/or outcomes in clinical and population-based studies with relevance to Hawaii and Pacific populations.
Design and analyze studies using in alignment with projects undertaken through the Body Composition Shared Resource.
Collaborate with UH Cancer Center investigators clinical partners and external collaborators on multidisciplinary research and clinical trials.
Lead or contribute to NIH and foundation grant applications.
Publish peer-reviewed manuscripts and present findings at scientific meetings.
Mentor undergraduate and graduate trainees.
Participate in scholarly and programmatic activities supporting the UH Cancer Center mission.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate in nutrition exercise physiology biomedical engineering epidemiology public health or related field from a college or university of recognized standing.
2 years of postdoctoral or equivalent research experience.
Evidence of independent research ability and peer-reviewed publications;5-7 first-author publications.
Demonstrated ability to plan and manage research projects;Ability to work collaboratively and mentor trainees.
Desirable Qualifications
Laboratory experience in data collection and study management.
Experience with clinical or technology validation studies.
Experience working with diverse or undeserved populations.
