We are seeking a summer intern to join our bioinformatics team. During this three-month appointment the intern will complete a self-contained computational genomics project supporting ongoing research efforts in cancer immunotherapeutics and pangenome addition to providing advanced experience developing analytic workflows and interrogating large-scale human genomic datasets this internship will offer opportunities for professional development in an academic medical setting. The intern will meet weekly with their mentor to review progress and goals attend regular group meetings and present an end-of-summer research seminar.
Workingtowards a PhD in Informatics or a related computational field with a GPA of 3.0 or greater. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Must be U.S. citizen permanent resident refugee or asylee.
The intern should possess strong analytical and communication skills. Proficiency with command-line tools and high-level programming languages such as Python and R is expected. Experience developing bioinformatics workflows and processing genomic data is also required. Experience with long-read sequencing data and pangenome analysis is strongly preferred.
