About the Role
As Caretaker you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance security and cleanliness of the school premises. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to respond efficiently to maintenance needs while ensuring the school environment remains safe and functional.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Opening and closing the school site each day

• Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs across the school buildings and grounds

• Ensuring the school site is safe clean and well maintained

• Monitoring heating lighting and general facilities

• Supporting the setup of rooms and spaces for school events and activities

• Conducting basic health and safety checks and reporting any issues

• Liaising with contractors and suppliers when required

• Supporting the school leadership team in maintaining a secure and welcoming environment

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience in caretaking facilities maintenance or a similar role

• Be practical reliable and capable of carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks

• Have a good understanding of health and safety procedures

• Demonstrate strong organisational and problem-solving skills

• Be able to work independently and respond to issues efficiently

• Have good communication skills when working with staff contractors and visitors

Experience working in a school environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
