Sr. DBA

Customer Description:
Company operating in the geriatrics sector.

Project Description:
Software system for managing nursing homes across multiple countries (operations patient data administration reporting etc.).
The Senior DBA will play a critical role in stabilizing and optimizing the SQL Server database layer during the codebase merge ensuring performance data integrity and scalability.
The DBA will also support the future database migration strategy (SQL Server PostgreSQL).

Hard Skills / Must Have:
5 years of experience as a DBA
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server
Advanced knowledge of Transact-SQL (T-SQL)
Extensive experience working with stored procedures (design optimization refactoring)
Query performance tuning and indexing strategies
Execution plan analysis
Database performance troubleshooting
Experience with large and complex databases
Experience supporting legacy systems
Backup restore disaster recovery planning
Strong understanding of data integrity transactions and concurrency

Hard Skills / Nice to Have (Optional):
Experience with database migration (SQL Server PostgreSQL)
Experience in schema refactoring
AWS RDS experience
Experience working in transformation/modernization projects
CI/CD for databases
Experience working closely with development teams during large refactoring initiatives

Responsibilities and Tasks:
Analyze both existing database structures and stored procedures
Support the database consolidation process during code merge
Optimize and refactor existing stored procedures
Ensure performance and stability during the merge phase
Identify inconsistencies between the two database forks
Design and implement improvements in indexing and query performance
Ensure data integrity and consistency
Collaborate closely with PHP developers and Delivery Lead
Contribute to the future migration strategy to PostgreSQL
Document database architecture and critical changes
