Job Description

Position Purpose:

The IT System Engineer III responsible for the installation support administration and preventive maintenance of the organizations server storage backup and print environment and operating systems both on-prem and cloud based as well as administration of networking equipment/configuration (circuits firewalls load balancers switches VLAN etc.) when required. Maintenance of Domains Domain Controllers GPOs including Entra ID.

System Engineer III is also responsible for maintaining security governance in accordance with regulatory policies and internal policies/procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Administer and support servers in physical virtual and cloud environments reporting monitoring/alerting patching and software deployment in accordance with corporate standards.
• Evaluate existing systems to recommend and implement system changes related to hardware e-mail file systems server OS management platforms to optimize health and security.
• Manage Hypervisor platforms and optimize performance and resource utilization.
• Implement and maintain server hardening patching and monitoring strategies.
• Administer enterprise storage systems (SAN/NAS) including provisioning performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Manage backup and recovery solutions (Veeam Rubrik) insuring data integrity and compliance.
• Develop and test disaster recovery plans and participate in DR exercises.
• Support basic networking infrastructure including VLANs firewalls DNS/DHCP.
• Collaborate with network engineers to troubleshoot connectivity issues and optimize traffic flow.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including application security and networking teams.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for systems processes and configurations.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Work with end users third party service providers and IT teams to diagnose and solve complex problems.
• Deliver server/storage-based solutions and support for the core data center and distributed servers.
• Provide third tier break/fix support for various Windows Server and Linux OS based systems.
• Perform technical assessments planning and work on cross team projects.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in computer science or engineering is strongly preferred
• 5 years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure roles.
• Certifications such as VMware VCP Microsoft MCSE Cisco CCNA or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of the following technologies:
• Windows Server OS based solutions.
• Linux Server OS based solutions.
• Data networking knowledge.
• Knowledge and experience in virtualization today specifically VMware.
• Experience in multi-site & multi-domain Active Directory management.
• Knowledge of network designing software such as Visio.
• Experience with backup software and recovery strategies SAN technologies web servers.
• Understanding of our experience supporting Oracle SQL or other database platforms.
• Experience with Exchange 2016 and Exchange Online services and support.
• Excellent incident identification and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels.
• Must be strong at both working as part of a team and independently as required.
• Ability to prioritize workload based on business needs and perform duties under deadline pressure.
• Patience flexibility and ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced high volume office environment.
• Detail-oriented and dedicated to follow-through in all work to meet accurately and effectively complete operational and project-based assignments on-time.
• Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot perform root cause analysis identify and isolate technical issues.
• On site during normal working hours and available as necessary before or after normal working hours.
