Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to oversee electrical installation activities on utility-scale solar construction projects. The role is responsible for supervising field electrical work ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications maintaining quality standards and coordinating with EPC contractors subcontractors and internal project teams.
The Electrical Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring safe project execution proper documentation and successful commissioning and turnover of electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor electrical installation activities at solar construction sites.
- Review and understand project drawings contract documents and technical specifications.
- Ensure electrical work is completed in accordance with project scope standards and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with EPC contractors subcontractors engineering teams and operations teams.
- Conduct field inspections to verify proper installation of electrical equipment and systems.
- Monitor project progress and provide daily weekly and monthly reports on schedule quality and safety.
- Facilitate the Request for Information (RFI) process with engineering and EPC teams.
- Support field commissioning and system turnover activities.
- Review and validate project completion and installation documentation.
- Utilize Unifier or project management systems to upload and manage installation quality control photographs and documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to site safety procedures and company policies.
- Build strong working relationships with project stakeholders and site teams.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of electrical systems used in solar power plants
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and fiber optic communication
- Experience with electrical and fiber testing including:
- Insulation Resistance (IR/IE)
- Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR)
- Very Low Frequency (VLF)
- Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR)
- Fall of Potential testing
- Voltage Open Circuit (VOC)
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings schematics and construction documentation
- Strong field supervision and coordination skills
- Knowledge of quality control and commissioning processes
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED or equivalent
- Experience supervising electrical installation work in construction or energy projects
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Experience working with multiple contractors and project teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in utility-scale solar projects
- Familiarity with project documentation tools such as Unifier
- Background in electrical commissioning and testing
- Electrical certification or technical diploma in electrical engineering or related field
