The staff Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating patients and facilitating rehabilitation and independence. Develops and designs treatment plans for physically mentally and/or emotionally disabled patients. Occupational Therapists enable enhance and improve patients ability to gain independent productive daily living and working environments.
1. Examines and assesses patients physical cognitive and learning abilities to determine realistic attainable rehabilitation goals and plan of care.
2. Treatment interventions are based on findings of the evaluation and the plan of care.
3. Selects educational recreational and social activities that will help individuals learn work and life-management skills within limits of their cognitive and physical capabilities.
4. Reassesses patients progress and prepares reports that details progress.
5. Documents therapy activities and maintains necessary records in patient files.
6. Provides training and education to caregivers in preparation of discharge.
7. Recommends changes in patients work or living environments that is consistent with their needs and capabilities.
8. Provide documentation of medical necessity for approval of DME/adaptive equipment and ongoing treatment.
9. 1-2 continuing education courses per year
10. Performs other related duties.
