About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Engineer Process to join our inclusive and diverse Maintenance Planning & Engineering (MP&E) Team.
This unique role will allow you to provide technical support for operations and maintenance teams assisting in improving plant availability and performance in order to maximise plant throughput whilst minimising the associated costs. Optimisation and improvement of the process plant will be a key focus of this role.
Reporting to the MP&E Engineering Superintendent you will be responsible for the following duties:
Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards policies and procedures
Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture topromote safety awareness and compliance encouragingprioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifyingevaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising arange of Rio Tinto best practices
Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in theperformance of duties
Perform plant troubleshooting optimisation and continuousimprovement
Ensure plant capacity is fully optimised and production targets aremet
Investigate deviations from the plan including identifying andrecommending solutions
Provide technical support and advice to fixed plant Operationsand Maintenance crews and frontline leaders
Validate downtime data in accordance with the RTIO Time UsageModel
Report plant performance through daily weekly and monthlyreporting formats
Prepare and distribute operating strategies Problematic OreManagement Plan and measure conformance to plan
Shut support as required; guidance on screen panel andprocessing asset technical queries
Interact with suppliers to coordinate (scope timeframe & costs)analysis and test work conducted external to RTIO
Engage with Central Process Engineering Team for in-shift plantoptimisation processing technical queries interpretation of testwork results sampling guidance flowsheet and modelling
About you
To succeed in this role you will have:
A degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Metallurgy Mineral Processing Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering
Excellent stakeholder engagement andmanagement skills
Sound analytical problem solving and critiquingskills
Demonstrate understanding of Processing unitoperations performance and levers to optimise
Experience leading improvement projects and defect elimination process
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite - experience with PowerBI and SQL also beneficial
Current C Class Drivers License (Manual)
Where youll be working
You will be based at Mesa A one of Rio Tintos iron ore operations within the Robe Valley in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Mesa A is located near the established community of Pannawonica approximately 200 kilometres southwest of Karratha and forms part of Rio Tintos integrated Pilbara iron ore network. This role is being offered on a 8/6 roster from Perth Western Australia.
