Job Summary
3-4 month contract position with a local authority
Summary
- This is a 3-4 month contract position with a local authority aimed at supporting the Street Scene & Waste Services team. The role involves performing grass cutting grounds maintenance and various outdoor environmental tasks throughout the city. The position is crucial in ensuring that public spaces parks and streets are maintained to a high standard fostering a clean safe and welcoming environment for both residents and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Perform grass cutting hedge trimming and shrub maintenance in parks open spaces and roadside areas.
- Undertake general grounds maintenance including clearing leaves debris litter and waste.
- Assist in planting watering and maintaining flower beds and landscaped areas.
- Support street cleaning activities including litter picking sweeping and waste removal.
- Maintain public spaces footpaths and city center areas to an agreed standard.
- Report damage vandalism fly-tipping or environmental hazards to supervisors.
Requirements
- Experience in grounds maintenance landscaping horticulture street cleansing or similar outdoor manual work.
- Experience using grounds maintenance tools such as mowers strimmers and hedge-cutters.
- Experience working in all weather conditions and in physically demanding roles.
- Full UK Driving Licence (driving may be required).
Additional Information
- Working hours: 37 hours per week
- Bi-weekly payment schedule
