Lead Software Engineering

As a Lead Engineer working with the Head of Product & Engineering youll play a critical role in driving the technical vision of the Nasdaq Risk Platform shaping nextgeneration realtime risk solutions and ensuring highquality delivery across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle ensuring highquality scalable secure and resilient system delivery.

• Own architectural decisionmaking balancing shortterm needs with longterm maintainability while aligning with platform and security standards.

• Collaborate effectively across product engineering and operations teams influencing decisions and communicating complex concepts clearly.

• Mentor and develop engineers through coaching knowledge sharing and highquality code reviews that promote continuous learning and engineering excellence.

• Drive operational excellence by ensuring reliability performance and continuous improvement promoting automation and efficient development practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience with 6 years of professional engineering experience and strong Core Java expertise.

• Proven track record building highperforming scalable and complex systems using modern engineering practices (CI/CD Linux Git).

• Handson experience using AIassisted development tools for code generation refactoring reviews test creation debugging performance analysis and documentation support.

• Proven ability to responsibly apply AI tools within enterprise standards ensuring security correctness and longterm maintainability.

• Familiarity with evaluating adopting and integrating emerging development tools into established engineering workflows to improve productivity and quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Handson experience with backend and cloud technologies including Kafka Kubernetes AWS deployment/monitoring Spring SQL Docker and Terraform.

• Additional programming versatility with Python and TypeScript/React for scripting automation or frontend collaboration.

• Background in capital markets FinTech or regulated industries.

This position will be located in Stockholm and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office subject to change providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
