Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

• Must have a high school diploma.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

• Experience working and/or managing a garden.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with bed preparation and general maintenance including tilling weeding and mowing;

• Addition of soil compost and other amendments as needed;

• Assist with propagating caretaking and disposing of plants;

• Assist with weed and pest management;

• Assist with composting efforts;

• Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of garden equipment;

• Assist with regular harvesting and distribution of produce;

• Assist with organizing and working farm stands;

• Assist with weekly volunteer sessions;

• Provide pictures and videos to promote the Campus Garden on Websites and social media.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Must have good interpersonal and communication skills and the willingness to work effectively with diverse populations from a variety of racial cultural and economic backgrounds;

• Must be able to work in a collaborative environment;

• Ability to work comfortably outdoors in a variety of weather conditions;

• Physically fit to handle the physical demands of the job including lifting up to 50 pounds;

• Ability to exercise initiative and make sound judgments respond positively to direction from supervisors and work without direct supervision;

• Ability to remain focused and exercise close attention to detail.

• Must be dependable and punctual.
