Job Summary
Gaskins LeCraw has joined the Pape-Dawson family!
Pape-Dawson is currently seeing a Rodman / Land Surveyor for their Longview TX office.
Overview:
As a key member of a survey crew the Rodman provides essential support to ensure the successful completion of land surveying projects under the direction of the Party Chief.
Responsibilities:
- Clear brush and obstacles to maintain line of sight.
- Carry and set up equipment such as rods tripods and prisms for staking and measurement.
- Load and unload survey equipment and supplies for job assignments.
- Maintain survey supplies such as nails paint rods and flags ensuring the crew is prepared for daily tasks.
- Gather supplies dig for corners and cut lines.
- Search for and correctly identify monuments.
- Plumb prisms to ensure accurate measurements.
- Measure distances using chains tape or other methods.
- Clean and maintain survey equipment.
- Complete other tasks related to field surveying as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED certification required.
- Ability to grasp basic surveying concepts and techniques.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
- Ability to follow directions from supervisors and work collaboratively with engineering staff and management.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions and terrains for extended periods.
- Physical ability to lift and carry survey equipment weighing up to 35 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Demonstrated dependability reliability and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
