About the Role
As a DT Technician your responsibilities will include:
Preparing materials tools and equipment for practical lessons across KS3KS5
Ensuring all workshop and classroom areas comply with health and safety regulations
Maintaining and testing DT equipment and machinery
Supporting teaching staff with practical demonstrations and lesson preparation
Monitoring stock levels and ordering materials when required
Assisting students with equipment use under supervision ensuring safe practice
Maintaining accurate records of resources consumables and safety checks
Collaborating with colleagues to contribute to an effective and efficient DT learning environment
Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working in a DT or practical teaching environment
Demonstrate strong organisational and technical skills
Be confident in the safe use of tools machinery and materials
Understand and implement health and safety and safeguarding requirements
Be proactive flexible and able to work independently as well as part of a team
Have excellent communication and collaboration skills
