Job Summary
What You Will Be Doing
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including journal entries chart of accounts management and financial reporting.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes while ensuring compliance with GAAP and governmental accounting standards.
- Develop and maintain internal controls accounting policies and financial procedures across the college.
- Manage college grants budgets purchasing and financial compliance programs.
- Supervise accounts payable purchasing and financial services operations.
- Prepare annual financial statements notes and regulatory financial packages.
- Oversee bank reconciliations budget entries and accounting system administration.
- Provide financial guidance to senior leadership and departmental heads for budget planning and fiscal management.
- Lead training initiatives for faculty and staff on financial systems policies and procedures.
- Support strategic planning and long-term financial planning initiatives across the institution.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or related field.
- 5 years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience.
- Strong experience in financial reporting internal controls budgeting and audit compliance.
- Experience managing accounting teams and financial operations.
- Understanding of governmental or educational institution accounting practices.
- Experience with financial ERP systems and reporting tools.
- Preferred:
- Masters degree in Accounting Finance or Business Administration
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Experience working in higher education finance
