Position Title: Governmental Affairs Representative

The Governmental Affairs Representative is responsible for supporting all government-related and immigration activities for employees contractors and visitors in compliance with Qatari laws and regulations. The role ensures timely processing of visas residence permits and official documentation while maintaining effective coordination with government authorities embassies and internal departments to support the organization’s operations in the Oil & Gas sector.
Process applications for work visas residence permits business visas multiple-entry visas and related immigration documentation for employees dependents and visitors.
Ensure all immigration documentation complies with Qatari laws regulations and company policies.
Coordinate with government authorities to facilitate immigration processes including medical examinations Civil ID applications and residency formalities.
Track the status of applications and follow up with relevant authorities to ensure timely completion.
Maintain effective working relationships with government ministries immigration authorities embassies and regulatory bodies.
Prepare official correspondence employment certificates and supporting documentation required for government transactions.
Support the Governmental Affairs Officer in coordinating with authorities regarding immigration-related matters or compliance issues.
Stay updated on changes in Qatar labor laws immigration regulations visa policies and residency requirements.
Ensure all immigration activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations and internal company policies.
Communicate regulatory updates to management and affected employees when necessary.
Coordinate repatriation procedures for employees leaving the organization.
Ensure completion of all required immigration and legal formalities before employee departure.
Monitor and maintain petty cash allocated for visa processing government service fees and immigration-related transactions.
Track expenditures and report discrepancies or budget deviations to the Governmental Affairs Officer.
Cooperate with police immigration authorities and security personnel in investigations or compliance matters related to immigration.
Assist in preparing documentation and reports related to such cases when required.
Adhere to all departmental policies procedures and standard operating practices.
Ensure all immigration-related activities are documented and maintained in an organized and controlled manner.
Comply with company HSEQ policies and procedures ensuring safe and responsible workplace practices.
Understand and follow emergency response procedures applicable to the organization.
Maintain accurate records of immigration documentation and employee status.
Prepare periodic reports related to immigration activities.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in immigration and governmental affairs processes.

Education
High School Diploma (minimum)
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Public Relations or a related field is preferred.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Government Relations (PRO) immigration services or public relations within a corporate environment.
Experience in the Oil & Gas industry or large multinational organizations is preferred.
Strong knowledge of Qatar labor and immigration laws
Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent relationship management and coordination abilities
Good administrative and documentation skills
Proficiency in MS Office and government e-service platforms
