Manufacturing Engineer
Location: High Point NC (or surrounding area)
Compensation: $75-85K
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations and ensure that product designs can be manufactured efficiently reliably and at scale. This role serves as a critical bridge between Design Engineering and Operations focusing on process capability tooling development and manufacturing optimization.
While Design Engineering focuses on translating customer requirements into product designs the Manufacturing Engineer focuses on how those designs are built in production. This role ensures manufacturability improves production processes and supports the transition from prototype to full-scale manufacturing.
The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with Engineering Quality Scheduling and Operations teams to develop manufacturing processes implement improvements and support production needs.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Process Development
- Develop implement and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure efficient repeatable production.
- Support manufacturing orders and collaborate with operations teams to meet production schedules.
- Lead process improvements to increase efficiency quality and throughput.
Engineering & Production Support
Documentation & Configuration Management
- Create and maintain manufacturing bills of materials (mBOMs) and process routings.
- Draft and manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) related to manufacturing processes.
- Develop and maintain work instructions and production documentation.
- Ensure documentation clearly supports manufacturability and production clarity.
Tooling & Fixture Development

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of manufacturing engineering or related experience.
- Experience with CAD software such as Inventor SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

Experience working with MRP/ERP systems.

Knowledge of IPC-610 and IPC-620 standards.

Experience applying Lean manufacturing principles.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Must reside in the High Point NC area or be willing to relocate.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AutoCAD Inventor.

Experience developing and implementing manufacturing processes.
- Experience with machining and mechanical assembly processes and equipment.

Experience with wire harness assembly processes and equipment.

Experience with PCB assembly and integration processes.

Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.

Experience with PFMEA development and control plans.

Experience leading Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews.
