Job Summary

Responsible for leading with minimal supervision the development coordination tracking and execution of project controls functions for assigned Capital and O&M projects while adhering to Earned Value Management (EVM) principles. This role works closely with project managers Corporate Finance and external stakeholders to ensure accurate cost and schedule performance across supported nuclear plant projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Project Controls oversight of assigned Capital and O&M projects and adhere to Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
  • Provide technical direction and support to project managers through regular touchbase meetings.
  • Develop project cost schedules using project cost estimates and project manager input using available tools and processes.
  • Monitor project performance against the baseline schedule by analyzing variances and trends.
  • Provide monthly analysis and financial summaries to supported managers and Corporate Finance.
  • Develop recommendations for corrective actions to recover cost and schedule deviations back to the established baseline schedule.
  • Recommend changes to the Long-Range Plan based on current project performance and lessons learned through project controls.
  • Ensure identified risks and opportunities are tracked and monitored using the appropriate tools.
  • Understand and process approved project baseline changes following the change management process.
  • Process monthly journal entries into the financial system and review for accuracy prior to posting.
  • Maintain Project Controls P6 schedule layouts.
  • Provide Project Controls and EVM initial and refresher training to project managers and project supervision.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to Project Controls Analysts and reinforce standards and expectations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate monthly Project Status Report (PSR) review meetings with supported project groups.
  • Identify and propose changes and improvements to Project Controls processes.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new Project Controls staff.

Required Certifications and Compliance

  • Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements (see Required Education and Experience section below).
  • Formal training on Primavera P6 Professional required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Certification via the Project Management Institute (PMP PBA SP CAPM or RMP).
  • Experience in nuclear power generation business processes including work management operations HR finance accounting and project management.
  • Previous BWR nuclear power experience in Project Controls with EVMS applications.
  • General understanding of nuclear plant operations and the mission and business requirements of supported organizations.
  • Familiarity with project and net billing agreements.
  • Knowledge of BWR plant systems and components system interrelationships design basis and regulatory requirements (FSAR industry codes etc.).

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Word Power BI and PowerPoint.
  • Must possess an understanding of planning financial management budgeting practices and risk management.
  • Must maintain detailed knowledge and understanding of corporate strategies and management initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology and practices.
  • Knowledge and experience with Primavera P6 Professional.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with audiences from department managers to senior leaders including fielding questions and delivering presentations.
  • Ability to work as a team member or leader and establish goals set priorities and maintain awareness of interrelationships among activities.
  • Must be able to function as both a service provider and a controller.
  • Demonstrated focus on developing quality work products with limited oversight.

Required Education and Experience

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 610 years of industrial level experience in a financial/accounting/budgeting/risk role preferably within a large company or profit center.
  • AA degree and 12 years of equivalent industrial level experience in a financial/accounting/budgeting/risk role.
  • High School diploma or GED and 14 years of equivalent industrial level experience in a financial/accounting/budgeting/risk role.
