About the Role

Are you looking for a rewarding role where no two days are the same We are seeking Casual Support Workers to join our dynamic team. At the heart of our service is a commitment to the Deaf and Hard of hearing community providing support for the community by the community.

As a Support Worker your day is guided entirely by the person you are supporting. We empower our customers to live how they choose and remain as involved as they wish in directing their own support.

What Youll Be Doing

You will work within a dedicated neighbourhood team to help customers build independence and confidence in their daily lives. This includes:

  • Community Access:
  • Supporting customers to explore local events and join clubs or social groups.
  • Life Skills:
  • Teaching customers how to navigate public transport or manage daily tasks.
  • Health & Wellbeing:
  • Accompanying customers to the gym or helping them stay active.
  • Social Connection:
  • Assisting customers in making and keeping friends and staying involved in activities they love.
  • Holistic Support:
  • Addressing the physical emotional and lifestyle needs of our customers.

Who We Are Looking For

To ensure the highest quality of care and cultural connection we are seeking applicants who meet the following criteria:

Qualifications:You must currently hold or be actively studying towards a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or (Ageing & Disability).

Language Skills: is essential. We are looking for Deaf Support Workers or hearing Support Workers who are fluent in Auslan.

Communication:For our Hard of hearing/Oral customers we also value clear English-speaking skills.
