Job Summary

As an Safety Engineer at Dufour Aerospace AG you will be responsible for ensuring the safety reliability activities of our unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). You will work closely with engineering operations teams to identify hazards assess risks and implement safety measures throughout the UAS lifecyclefrom design and development to testing certification and operational deployment

Tasks

Conduct and document structured safety assessments hazard analyses and risk mitigation for UAS platforms and subsystems.
Lead system safety assessment activities (e.g. FHA FTA FMEA)at UAS- system- hardware- and software-level.
Identify and document safety-critical functions and failure modes; propose and track corrective actions.
Collaborate with engineering teams and assist them in developing safety risk mitigation strategies.
Monitor and analyse operational safety data incident reports and recommend improvements.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

Masters degree in aerospace engineering sSystems eEngineering or a related field.
3 years of experience in functional and systems safety preferably in an aerospace environment (UAS experience is a plus).
Experience in the unmanned autonomous aircraft or vehicle industry is an asset
Strong knowledge of aviation safety standards (e.g. ARP4754 ARP4761 ED-280) and UAS regulations (EU 2019/947 SC Light-UAS FAA Part 135)
Demonstrable experience with safety analysis methodologies (e.g. FHA FMEA FTA) and safety engineering tools
