The opportunity
We are looking for a student intern (master level) or master thesis worker onGPU Accelerated Power System Simulation. The student will focus on implementing and testing innovative numerical algorithms to support accelerations of large-scale power system simulations. The student willjoin our Hitachi Energy Research team of Grid Management and Optimization in Mannheim Germany.
How youll make an impact
Literature Review on GPU acceleration of numerical methods
Further develop existing tools for power flow analysis
Implement numerical algorithms in Cuda / C
Perform benchmarking tests
Document and present findings
Your background
Studying computer science mathematics electrical engineering or related field
Good programming skills C and / or Cuda / python for fast prototyping
Preferably experience with scientific computing numerical algorithms profiling tools
Ability to work in a team and have strong team spirit
