Senior Analyst, AI

This role is based in our Shanghai Central Plaza Office.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Analyst to join our experienced global team that covers the AI ecosystem full stack: from AI compute to AI developer tooling and enterprise AI platforms to enterprise AI applications. We work with market-leading brands from hyperscalers to AI startups helping clients with their product and GTM strategies and understanding of where the next wave of AI disruption is coming from to harness it for tangible and sustained business value.

The successful candidate will primarily focus on the Chinese AI market and innovation as well as within the broader APAC region and globally. You will be responsible for quantitative and qualitative research such as forecasts vendor comparisons market trackers and reports custom research projects survey research white papers webinars and industry speaking engagements.

Were looking for an experienced analyst who has produced third-party research assets with excellent knowledge of the Chinese AI ecosystem and existing relationships. The position is suited to an enthusiastic self-motivated and collaborative person able to express considered and bold views through thought-provoking research and analysis to a mixed audience of technical end users through senior industry executives. Ability to quickly develop strong relationships interpersonal skills and to effectively work as part of a global team are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver insightful research

Create high quality research in the form of reports trackers forecasts and presentations. Develop and test hypotheses that challenge existing beliefs within a market to provide unique insight. Use all the tools and knowledge at your disposal to produce analysis that goes beyond the descriptive to give Omdia the edge over its competition.

Market high-level industry expertise

Use your expertise and experience to define and expand an area of research. Market that expertise at a senior level within our clients and prospects. Provide a timely response to market events and offer up-to-date opinions founded on broad-based experience.

Build and maintain client relationships

Over time and as your career progresses at Omdia and Informa TechTarget build and maintain a network of client relationships. Become a trusted advisor to these clients over time.

Ensure effective client management

Build and manage ongoing relationships with clients. Represent Omdia and Informa TechTarget demonstrating your expertise in AI platforms as well as taking a broad view of AI technology and its delivery of business outcomes. Support sales marketing product management and PR teams. Participate in client-facing meetings with the sales team and add credibility to Omdia and Informa TechTarget relationships.

Expand strategic planning involvement

Offer insight to our planning meetings. Contribute to the direction and strategy of the team. Through the understanding of client needs based on senior-level relationships develop a customer-based point of view for new products and advisory services.

Qualifications :

• At least 3 years of professional experience. Experience as industry analyst or in the fields of vendor corporate strategy market research consulting journalism or a relevant role within a technology company preferred.
• Bachelors degree in a technical or business-related topic.
• Proven commercial acumen with a track record of collaborating effectively with sales teams to identify develop and capitalize on business opportunities that drive growth and success.
• Solid understanding and insight into the Chinese AI ecosystem and the ability to quickly form credible distinctive compelling and original opinions on how aspects of these will evolve and why.
• Quantitative research with the ability to build maintain and enhance market forecasts and trackers and present complex concepts and trends from data in a compelling manner.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex ideas.
• Strong verbal communication and presentation skills including a personable manner and the confidence to present to engage with and influence executives at the highest levels of the industry.
• The ability to build and enhance a profile with industry contacts and opinion formers. A network of existing industry contacts would be desirable.
• The ability to quickly and coherently identify and communicate critical issues impacting the commercial performance of Omdias vendor clients.
• A proven track record of managing a workload to ensure deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Cultural awareness as the role involves working with global clients and within a global virtual team environment.
