Position Overview
OBASA Suites is seeking an energetic dependable and results-driven Handyman / Maintenance Person to join our maintenance team in Regina Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will be a skilled maintenance professional responsible for ensuring that OBASAs furnished suites and partner properties are well-maintained safe and comfortable for guests and tenants. This role requires strong technical abilities attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service while maintaining OBASAs professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Complete maintenance and repair work orders in a timely and efficient manner prioritizing tasks based on urgency and operational needs.
- Generate billable maintenance hours by performing work on OBASA Suites partner suites and buildings.
- Schedule daily maintenance activities with consideration for occupancy levels to minimize disruption to guests tenants and staff.
- Perform general maintenance repairs and troubleshooting related to building systems equipment and property infrastructure.
- Respond to technical or maintenance emergencies and notify the Property Manager of any additional action required.
- Ensure compliance with all health safety and security regulations.
- Maintain facilities in a safe efficient and orderly condition by overseeing maintenance repair and renovation activities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work inspections and testing.
- Prepare and manage inventories of spare parts and maintenance materials to ensure proper building operation.
- Organize and maintain the maintenance storeroom for effective inventory control.
- Ensure high-quality workmanship for all repairs renovations and construction work.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with service providers and contractors supporting Regina properties.
- Assist in ensuring OBASAs Regina properties including The Hamilton are properly maintained and operating efficiently.
- Perform required daily weekly and monthly maintenance and operational checks.
- Monitor maintenance outcomes and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Keep equipment and supply rooms clean organized and safe.
- Communicate important issues and updates to the Property Manager and Client Care Manager.
- Professionally represent OBASA Suites in appearance communication and conduct at all times.
- Maintain a cooperative team-oriented attitude and assist colleagues when needed to meet guest and tenant needs.
- Provide constructive suggestions to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
- Support and promote OBASAs culture of professionalism teamwork and positive workplace environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- 35 years of experience in building maintenance property maintenance or a similar role.
- Working knowledge of building operating systems including HVAC plumbing electrical and mechanical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Basic computer skills for work orders reporting and communication.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with team members.
