Job Summary
Job Title: Diesel Service Mechanic
Job Description: EJ Equipment Inc. is looking for a skilled and experienced Diesel Service Mechanic to join our team in Shakopee MN. This full-time hourly position involves providing high-quality service and maintenance to a variety of diesel equipment and vehicles including trucks trailers forklifts and other heavy machinery. As an individual contributor you will report directly to the Service Manager.

Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel equipment and vehicles such as engine tune-ups oil changes and brake repairs.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Complete necessary repairs and replacements on diesel engines transmissions and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections of diesel equipment and vehicles to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
- Maintain accurate and detailed service records and reports.
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues providing updates on repair progress and recommendations for preventative maintenance.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols in the shop and on job sites.
- Stay current with industry advancements and changes in diesel technology.
- Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic with strong knowledge of diesel engines and equipment.
- Must have own tools and a valid drivers license.
- Experience in the auto industry is preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime.
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment and stand for extended periods.
