The Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications and nominations for a faculty position as a Professor of Small Animal Veterinary Internal Medicine (non- tenure track; Assistant Associate or Full Professor). We are seeking a dynamic faculty committed to advancing excellence in veterinary education fostering a culture of innovation and promoting a fun immersive learning environment for academic success among our students. Furthermore we are creating an inspired academic community dedicated to ensuring our graduates will approach veterinary internal medicine with confidence curiosity and capability. Primary responsibilities include teaching service and scholarly activities. Teaching activities are primarily associated with internal medicine principles and clinical application. Service activities vary with individual preferences and program needs.
Scholarly activities may include research continuing education and publications relevant to the profession and/or veterinary internal medicine and innovations in veterinary education and training. Interprofessional research addressing One Health
challenges is also encouraged. A typical time assignment is 75% teaching 20% scholarly activities and 5% service. Alternative hiring models including part time non-benefit
eligible positions will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
Provide innovative education mentorship and guidance to all students in avariety of settings including the classroom laboratory simulation center andCabot Animal Support Services in the discipline of veterinary internal medicine.
Play a critical role in promoting the health and welfare of animals within a shelterenvironment including high-quality medical care to small animals support ofpopulation management promotion of public health and collaboration withinthe shelter program.
Participate in student assessment feedback and remediation to ensure thatstudents meet LCSVMs high academic standards in the areas of knowledgeskills and abilities.
Participate in curriculum development delivery assessment and enhancement.
Provide service to Lyon College and the greater community by serving oncommittees providing leadership participating in community outreach eventsand working with professional organizations and groups.
Maintain discipline and teaching expertise through continuing professionaleducation.
Engage in scholarly activity including research authorship presentations atconferences innovation entrepreneurship and mentorship of students in theirscholarly activities.
Opportunities exist to provide medical services to partners of the veterinaryschool such as private practices.

Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the delivery of veterinary/medicaleducation including an understanding of the principles of andragogy andpedagogy and their application in a professional curriculum.

Qualifications:
Required:
DVM or equivalent degree
Board Certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine or another relevant ABVS specialty (such as ABVP) or progress towards .
Preferred:
Masters degree and/or doctoral degree
Prior experience teaching within a veterinary or medical school.
Demonstrated leadership experience in educational and/or professional settings.
Demonstrated scholarly activities in education innovations entrepreneurshipand/or medical research.
This position will be based at the new Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine inCabot Arkansas. The LCSVM is co-located with Cabot Animal Support Services (CASS).CASS is a local state and national model for shelter medicine animal welfarecommunity relations and education.
