Job Summary

Description

The Admission Counselor is an integral member of the admissions team. The Admission Counselor is responsible for managing recruitment and outreach eff orts for a defi ned group of prospective students in the pursuit of attaining individual and departmental goals.

Student Recruitment

  • Hit individual and departmental admission targets by providing personalized admissions counseling to students from a defi ned pool of prospective students who have been admitted to Anderson University
  • Identify and prioritize admissions counseling activities that are likely to lead to the most successful outcomes and the prospective students who are most likely to fl ourish at Anderson University
  • Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership to stay informed on program off erings admissions criteria and career outcomes for designated academic colleges and programs.

Territory Management

  • Manage an geographic recruitment territory including outreach relationship building with school counselors and student engagement
  • Represent the university at designated events.

Campus Visit Engagement

  • Lead individual admissions overviews and potential campus tours for prospective students and families
  • Assist in developing compelling compelling personalized visit experience that highlights experiential learning faculty mentorship spiritual formation and post-graduate outcomes.

Event Participation

  • Present during campus-wide recruitment events such as Preview Days Scholarship Competitions and Orientation Days
  • Support event logistics and ensure high-quality visitor experiences during large-scale individual visits and academic-specifi c events.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with marketing and communication faculty and other admissions team members to develop messaging and materials for prospective students.
  • Provide regular updates to faculty partners about prospective student interest and engagement
  • Contribute to the broader goals of the admissions team through collaborative projects training sessions and data-informed strategies.


Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree
  • Proven experience working with and speaking to young adults
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver information effectively and persuasively
  • Must be curious and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office and G Suite
  • Ability to accurately assess the needs and priorities of a diverse population of individuals and groups
  • Ability to utilize appropriate methods to guide or facilitate a decision-making process
  • Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have strong time management and organizational skills high attention to detail and the ability to work in a multi-tasked goal oriented and deadline driven environment
  • Work requires tact discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule that will include days evenings and some weekends
  • Valid drivers license with ability to qualify to use university vehicles or access to reliable transportation to complete travel requirements
  • Some light lifting related to travel and events
  • Successful completion of background screening
  • Must meet University lifestyle expectations

Highly Desired

  • Three months to 1 year of experience in higher education or relevant field
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft or Student First platforms as well as Slate CRM are preferred
