We are now seeking candidates for the position of Senior Advisor covering a broad range of tasks related to our research at the department in multi-disciplinary wind energy science.

Responsibilities and qualifications
The Senior Advisor will provide public service and conduct researchinternally support the implementation of the department strategy evaluate and communicate results according to the strategy. We expect close collaboration with top management across the department and international external Senior Advisor will also participate in and potentiallylead strategic project teams for new research areas and ideas. External communication with international partners will be a crucial task for inspiration and knowledge exchange and to establish future collaboration and options for external funding.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Research-based public service
  • Perform research and analyses in wind energy science
  • Develop strategic research areas and ideas
  • Stay updated on the broad scientific field of wind energy research
  • Disseminate research results and knowledge to authorities businesses and society at large
  • Stakeholder management and attending international research partnerships

Depending on the individual competence profile and tasks available at the department the position may also include teaching and training tasks for university students and energy professionals.

The university determines the specific distribution between the various tasks. The weighting between tasks may vary over time.

The qualifications for the position are:

  • The capacity to contribute to the departments national and international partnerships and scientific advice.
  • You must have documented scientific production/publication and research potential at international level including dissemination of research results and analyses to authorities and society in general.
  • As a formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding a position as a researcher or postdoc.

DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages and in time are expected to master both.

The following further qualifications will be considered in the assessment:

  • Strong background and interest in sustainable energy
  • Quantitative skills and experience with data handling
  • Excellent communication skills both in writing and oral presentation
  • Open-minded team player able to work in multidisciplinary and multinational teams
  • A longer-term interest in pursuing a research career

You will be assessed against the responsibilities and qualifications stated above and the following general criteria:

  • Research experience
  • Experience and quality of teaching
  • Experience in providing scientific advice
  • International impact and experience
  • Societal impact
  • Innovativeness including commercialization and collaboration with industry
  • Leadership collaboration and interdisciplinary skills
  • Communication skills

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The position is a full-time position and starting date will be according to mutual agreement.
