Rutgers The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist III (Trenton NJ) within the Cancer Registry at the Rutgers Cancer Institute. Under the Deputy Directors supervision the primary role of the Research Teaching Specialist III ( RTS III ) is to assist with research activities utilizing data from the New Jersey State Cancer Registry ( NJSCR ). The RTS III also performs work requiring application of standard research techniques and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: As assigned assists with probabilistic cancer data linkages for external investigators using SQL SAS MatchPro and SEER*DMS software. Develops Data Use Agreement ( DUA ) packets which include budget/ billing statements and a Statement of Work ( SOW ). For each linkage studies initiates & follows Rutgers SRB and IRB applications until final approval. Initiates manual reviews of linkage results when requested by researchers. Transmits final encrypted datasets to researchers via secure data transfer. Assists with data analyses of New Jersey State Cancer Registry ( NJSCR ) data for reports data requests and research abstracts/presentations using SEERStat and Joinpoint software to produce MP- SIR analysis rates counts trends stratified by race/ethnicity sex and age groups for abstracts/ presentations. As assigned queries data from NJSCR - DMS using knowledge of SQL and relational database skills. Assists with analysis of exported data sets using SAS . Under guidance conducts geocoding of NJSCR case data using Geocodio to aid GIS analysis. Uses knowledge to improve geocoding quality. Involved in the creation and maintenance of the NJ zone design interactive map under the guidance of the Project lead. Assists with compilation and presentation of study specific statistical data with appropriate conclusions and recommendations. Participates in the design of study management procedures and the evaluation of existing procedures suggesting revisions where necessary.
