The Opportunity
At the heart of our technology is an embedded Linuxbased camera system that records sports matches using multiple sensors. Using our advanced video processing algorithms these streams are stitched together to present one continuous playfield.
Our AI and cloud teams then process the video using proprietary models that lead the industry in our field enabling players and coaches to access detailed statistics such as goals ball possession passes and more.
While dedicated teams own most of the video processing and AI development you will interface closely with both worlds and have the opportunity to gain exposure across these domains.
Most work in this role focuses onRust- and Python-based user-space Linux applications Linux platform engineering and firmware architecture rather than low-level hardware or driver development. Our firmware stack primarily usesRust Python and C and fluency in at least two of these languages is preferred.
What You Will Do
- Develop and maintainRust- and Python-based user-space applicationsrunning on Veos embedded Linux camera platform.
- Contribute tofirmware architecture and Linux platform engineeringfor our camera system.
- Build and maintainintegrations with cloud services including REST APIs OpenTelemetry and AWS S3.
- Implementwireless communication featuresusing BLE and Wi-Fi for connectivity with mobile devices.
- Develop and maintainapplication-layer protocols including GATT services Protobuf-based communication and data serialization.
- Collaborate closely withAI video processing and cloud teamsto support the broader camera platform.
- Improvesystem reliability and observabilitythrough diagnostics state management and monitoring.
What You Could Bring
- At least 5 years of experience and a background inelectrical or software engineering.
- Strong foundation in modern software development practices architecture and design patterns.
- Experience building and evolving user-space applications in Rust or Python with a focus on clean APIs testability and maintainability across an embedded device fleet.
- Experience developing software for embedded Linux systems (Yocto) including system services D-Bus device trees state management and diagnostics.
- Experience integrating embedded systems with cloud services such as REST APIs OpenTelemetry and AWS S3 including debugging and operational troubleshooting.
- Experience building applications that integrateBLE and Wi-Fi including GATT services connection management Protobuf-based protocols and communication with mobile devices.
- Familiarity with MCU development and RTOS environments are a nice to have. While most work happens in Linux user-space exposure to low-level firmware or peripheral interfacing can be helpful when interacting with MCU firmware.
