OVERVIEW
This role will support all members of the Legal Office with research documentation and administrative tasks. The individual will be highly motivated detail oriented and gain hands-on experience in corporate legal operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct legal research on various corporate regulatory and compliance matters.
- Draft and review basic contracts agreements and internal legal documents under supervision.
- Support the legal team with due diligence and policy/process updates.
- Attend meetings and take notes summarizing key points as needed.
- Assist with ad hoc and special projects as assigned by members of the legal team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration legal studies or a related field.
Experience
- Basic knowledge of contract law and documents and legal specifications.
Knowledge/Competencies/Skills
- Strong interest in contract and corporate law and legal practice.
- High level of oral and written English for negotiation communication and drafting is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
- Knowledge of the waste management industry procurement supply chain is a strong asset.
- Communication: exceptional verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and in a cross functional team to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a strong understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and the ability to communicate and apply AI technologies effectively within a business context.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- All CM employees work 40 hours per week remotely from a home office environment.
PAY TRANSPARENCY
ExpectedCompensation:
- A salary of $14700 for the 4-month term.
- The salary listed complies with the Ontario Employment Standards Act and reflects working full-time hours.
