Youll work directly with our ecommerce marketing and sales departments with the opportunity to help design and shape a growing physical retail presence. The ideal candidate is well-spoken highly organized creative empathetic and mission-driven to provide customers with an experience theyll want to share with their friends and family. You should be tech-savvy personable and open-minded in further defining and elevating a brand experience that exceeds the quality of the cookware we craft.
Weekend availability isrequiredfor this role.Weekend shifts are not an every-week occurrence but this position does require flexibility to work weekends when needed includingshowroom coveragespecial events and our busy holiday season (October December). Scheduling needs will be communicated as far in advance as possible.
What youll do
- Ensure high-level customer experiences in the retail showroom delivering a consistent experience from arrival to departure
- Greetassist and educate customers about Smitheys cookware brand story and product lineup
- Facilitate transactions on Shopifys point-of-sale system developing full fluency with the platform
- Assistwith order management returns and exchanges
- Monitor showroom inventory levels and place inventory transfer orders from the warehouse to keep the showroom well-stocked
- Keep the retail showroom in tip-top shape including interior cleaning and organizing as well as outdoor upkeep such as plant watering and leaf blowing
- Travel to in-person events and shows 34 times annually including occasional weekend events
- Use Microsoft Teams and email to communicate and collaborate with the rest of the team as needed
Qualifications
- Passionate about helping people and amplifying the Smithey brand
- Experience with in-person retail luxury or high-end retail experience a plus
- Proven experience in customer service support or retail roles
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
- Willingness to take initiative and contribute to the success of the team through proactive support and innovation
- Must have flexibility to work weekends when needed for showroom coverage events and during our busy holiday season

This is an in-person position based at Smitheys North Charleston SC retail showroom. The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Must be able to remain on your feet for extended periods throughout the workday
- Must be able to lift carry and move items up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle feel and operate objects tools and controls
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms bend stoop and kneel
- Must be able to move throughout the showroom and warehouse areas with ease
- Must be able to travel to off-site events 34 times annually including occasional weekend travel
- Must be available to work weekends as needed for showroom coverage events and during the holiday season (October December)
- Must be able to perform light cleaning organizing and outdoor maintenance tasks such as plant watering and leaf blowing
Work Environment This role operates in a retail showroom environment. The employee may occasionally be exposed to outdoor conditions when performing exterior maintenance tasks.
