The Surgery Center of Charleston a division of Charleston ENT & Allergy is seeking a full-time Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our team.
The Surgery Center of Charleston is an independent accredited outpatient surgery center that provides high-quality surgical services and comprehensive pre- and post-operative care. Our surgical services include a variety of ENT and cosmetic procedures.
Certified Surgical Technologists play a critical role in supporting the surgical team and ensuring that procedures run efficiently and safely in the operating room.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Preparing operating rooms with the appropriate instruments supplies and equipment according to surgeons preference cards
- Inspecting instruments and equipment to ensure proper working condition
- Maintaining sterile technique and adhering to all operating room policies and procedures
- Opening sterile supplies and arranging instruments for each procedure
- Anticipating the needs of the surgeon during procedures and maintaining the availability of instruments and supplies
- Identifying and reporting breaks in sterile technique and taking appropriate action according to policy
- Cleaning caring for and sterilizing instruments and equipment as directed
- Assisting with stocking and maintaining operating room supplies
- Maintaining and updating instrument and surgeon preference cards as needed
- Documenting patient care information in accordance with facility policies and procedures
- Communicating effectively with the surgical team to support patient care throughout the procedure
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
- Minimum of two years of operating room experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
