As our Elective Home Education (EHE) Advisor you will play a vital role in ensuring that the Local Authority fulfils its statutory duties for children who Electively Home Educate. You will manage the EHE process working directly with parents carers schools and partner agencies to ensure that every child receives a suitable and safe education.

This role is both varied and impactful. You will carry out targeted casework complete assessments and RAG ratings support families to engage in education and contribute to safeguarding by identifying children who may be at risk of social or educational exclusion. You will also build strong relationships with schools social care health services and crossborder authorities to ensure a seamless and supportive approach to EHE across Havering.

You will be an organised confident and motivated professional who is passionate about supporting children and families.

To succeed in this role you will bring:

• A strong understanding of Elective Home Education legislation
• Experience of engaging influencing and providing guidance to parents schools and other professionals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Ability to analyse information assess risk and make informed decisions as part of safeguarding processes.
• Strong negotiation problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team often under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Confidence in using Microsoft Office and relevant education systems.
