About the Role

We are growing our team and have a vacancy for a Veterinary Technician to join our busy mixed animal clinic based in Levin.

Levin & Horowhenua Vets is a busy mixed practice. Theyve been serving their community for over 80 years and have a strong and well-regarded production animal team. The companion animal side is equally busy and the team is very proactive about creating offers that develop and expand their customer base.

Responsibilities include:

• Carrying out a variety of farm calls this may include:
  • calf disbudding
  • blood sampling
  • condition scoring
  • vaccinating
  • drenching
• Manage lab samples carrying out a large range of in-house lab work
• Giving advice to farmers and lifestylers when they come into clinic
• Providing excellent standards of care for our patients and clients
• Anesthetic monitoring and carrying out procedures in clinic with large animals
• Administration support for veterinarians

We are looking for a person who has the following qualities:

• Applicant will ideally have a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology but if you have relevant experience please apply
• Can work in a team but who is equally confident to work by themselves
• Excellent organisational skills
• An excellent standard of customer service
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Have a passion for animal health and wellbeing
• Have initiative and a pro-active work ethic

This position is a full-time position; working week can be anything from Monday Saturday between 7.45am 5.30pm days and hours to be confirmed with successful candidate.
