Synechron is seeking an experienced Containerisation Specialist to lead the design deployment and management of containerized infrastructures within our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) organization. This role involves developing automated resilient and secure container platforms partnering with product and engineering teams from initial design to production. The successful candidate will champion best practices in container security performance and scalability while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Software Requirements
Required:
Hands-on experience with Docker and container fundamentals
Proven expertise operating workloads on AWS ECS (EC2 and Fargate) in production environments
Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills including process memory network and filesystem management
Experience with container image build pipelines and lifecycle management (Docker registries best practices)
Operational expertise with AWS services supporting containers: ECR ALB/NLB IAM roles Auto Scaling and VPCs
Proficiency in scripting (Bash Python or similar) for automation and tooling
Experience integrating container workflows into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins Buildkite or Azure DevOps
Familiarity with observability platforms such as Datadog Dynatrace Splunk or Sumo Logic
Knowledge of container security best practices and runtime hardening techniques
Preferred:
Experience with Kubernetes (basic understanding or hands-on experience)
Infrastructure as code (Terraform CloudFormation)
Advanced understanding of AWS networking concepts (VPC security groups service discovery)
Exposure to ITSM tools like ServiceNow for operational management
Overall Responsibilities
Design build and operate highly available scalable container workloads on AWS ECS and Fargate
Optimize container lifecycle processesincluding image building scanning deployment and runtime performance tuning
Partner with application teams to modernize workloads into container-first architectures
Identify prioritize and resolve reliability security and performance issues across containerized services
Establish observability standards for container environments including monitoring logging and tracing capabilities
Develop automation for container images CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure provisioning to improve efficiency and consistency
Drive container security enhancements including role-based access control least privilege policies and vulnerability management
Collaborate with networking and platform teams to ensure resilient connectivity and traffic management
Advocate for operational excellence through documentation mentoring peers and promoting automation and best practices
Technical Skills (By Category)
Containerization & Orchestration:
Required: Docker Kubernetes (basic)
Preferred: Experience with container security tools and advanced orchestration strategies
Cloud Technologies:
Required: AWS ECS Fargate ECR ALB/NLB IAM VPC auto-scaling
Preferred: AWS services for container networking and security (VPC endpoints security groups)
Automation & Infrastructure as Code:
Terraform CloudFormation or similar tools for provisioning and managing infrastructure
Monitoring & Logging:
Platforms like Datadog Dynatrace Splunk or Sumo Logic for observability and alerting
Scripting & DevOps Tools:

6 years of experience specializing in container platform design implementation and management preferably in large or enterprise environments
Proven ability to build operate and optimize container workloads on AWS ECS or Kubernetes
Strong knowledge of cloud networking security and automation best practices
Experience with security hardening runtime protection and vulnerability management in container environments
Industry experience in finance retail or technology sectors is advantageous but not mandatory
Day-to-Day Activities
Architect deploy and monitor containerized workloads across cloud platforms
Automate container build deployment and maintenance processes to ensure rapid reliable releases
Troubleshoot container and runtime issues optimizing for performance and resilience
Implement security best practices such as least privilege role-based access and vulnerability scanning
Collaborate with platform network and application teams on scalability security and operational improvements
Support operational tasks including incident management capacity planning and auditing
Maintain detailed documentation of architecture security policies and operational procedures
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field; or equivalent practical experience
6 years of extensive hands-on experience with containerization orchestration and cloud infrastructure
Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Kubernetes Administrator or similar are a plus
Proven ability to lead operational initiatives and foster automation-driven culture
