The role

We areseekinga Kubernetes engineer to join our London engineering this roleyoullplay a pivotal part in shaping the platforms that enable our research and trading teams to runcutting-edgeworkloads at scale.

You willbe responsible fordesigning building andoperatingmatureKubernetes-based infrastructure that issecure resilient and highly automated ensuring it can support a wide range of demanding compute requirements.

Our environment spans everything fromGPU-intensive machine-learning model trainingtoultra-low-latency trading workloads requiring meticulous attention to performance reliability and closely with researchers engineers and traders to deliver platforms that not only meet immediate needs but alsoanticipatefuture growth and innovation.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Design andoperatecustom Kubernetes operators/controllersto automate infrastructure beyond off-the-shelf solutions.
  • Guarantee multi-tenant security and isolation enforcing RBAC and policies with OPA/Gatekeeper.
  • EngineerGitOps-driven CI/CD pipelines (ArgoCDFluxCD)for safe auditable changes.
  • Drive Infrastructure as Code practices with Terraform and Helmfor reliable andrepeatablebuilds.
  • Heavily embed observability using Prometheus Grafana andOpenTelemetryto make systems measurable and reliable.
  • Stay ahead of Kubernetes evolution by testing and adopting new versions and features early.
  • Collaborate with teamsacross the business refining requirements challengingassumptionsand prioritisingdeveloperexperience.
  • Contribute to an on-call rotationtake ownership ofincidentssolveproblems openly and share responsibilityin a no blame culture.
  • Capture and share knowledge writing clear runbooks postmortems and design documentation.

Who are we looking for

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Strong Linux systemengineering background.
  • Great programming ability in Go or Python ideally with experience building Kubernetes operators or controllers.
  • Strong understanding ofKubernetes internals including CRDs RBAC custom controllers and scheduler extensions.
  • Hands-on experience with Helm andGitOpsworkflows.
  • Experience implementingmulti-tenant security controlsin Kubernetes including namespace isolation network policiesandOpenPolicy Agent.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex performance and reliability issues across infrastructure and workloads.
  • Experiencewithobservability tools such asPrometheusGrafanaandOpenTelemetrytomonitorcluster metrics and health.
  • Great communicationskills with experience collaborating with internal platform users to gather feedback and deliver improvements.
  • Experience writing andmaintainingtechnical documentation runbooks and post-incident reviews.
