Role Overview

The Lead Equipment Engineer is in charge of the planning execution documentation and hand - over of work results in equipment engineering within an investment project. They also offer apparatus and machine - technical support during commissioning. With solid expertise in equipment engineering under the guidance of the Engineering Manager (EM) or Project Manager (PM) they lead a team of internal and external equipment engineers to achieve project goals.

Critical Responsibilities

• Coordinate equipment engineering throughout all phases of investment projects from concept development procurement to installation and commissioning. Ensure seamless integration of equipment - related tasks optimizing project progress and efficiency.
• Evaluate the technical needs of the Business Entity (BE) provide feedback on improvement potential and develop optimal solutions considering technical economic and ecological constraints. Convert these needs into functional and technical requirements and then into engineering design input driving innovation and feasibility in project design.
• Take responsibility for achieving project objectives in terms of safety quality costs and deadlines within the area of responsibility and relevant interfaces. Ensure high - standard project delivery and risk control.
• Independently develop and coordinate interdisciplinary technical solutions in a complex project environment applying well - founded expertise according to the state of the art. Promote cross - disciplinary cooperation and technical excellence.
• Implement the tendering and procurement process for relevant equipment types and engineering services with suppliers and contractors. Ensure cost - effective procurement and high - quality equipment supply.

Requirements

• Educational Background: A Bachelors degree in engineering specializing in process engineering mechanical engineering or production technology or an equivalent qualification.
• Core Skills:
  • Over 8 years of professional experience in equipment engineering and/or the design and fabrication of chemical equipment demonstrating in - depth knowledge and practical ability.
  • Sound knowledge in the field of machinery and apparatus technology enabling accurate technical judgment and problem - solving.
  • Solid knowledge of national and international standards and regulations ensuring project compliance.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills facilitating effective collaboration within and outside the team.
  • Ability to effectively handle complex time - critical problems and uncertainties maintaining project stability.
  • Good leadership skills to represent project interests to internal and external stakeholders even in conflict situations ensuring project success.
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in both written and spoken English enabling smooth communication in an international work environment.
• Other Requirements: Willingness to take on national and international assignments showing flexibility and adaptability.
