Information Security & Cyber Consultant

Duration: 9 Months

Rate: 780 per day

Location: Milton Keynes & remote (hybrid)

IR35 Status: Inside

Start: ASAP

Role Overview:

An Information Security & Cyber Consultant is required for our Government client to assist them in making informed decisions about the Cyber and Information Security organisation structure and function strategy after the current one ends in 2027. You will assist with the creation of a programme of work to deliver against various project and corporate initiatives such as internal and external audits/reviews.

As the Information Security & Cyber Consultant you will act as an SME to review current set up with a view to providing advice guidance and a draft strategy for information security and cyber functions (including the SOC) for the client.

Essential Skills & Experience required:

Extensive experience in working in a cyber and information security environment (public sector desirable but not essential);

Experience of undertaking activities regarding creation of cyber and information security strategies programmes and organisational structure reviews;

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Working knowledge of the UK Government profession frameworks relating to Security and DDaT which apply to information security and cyber

Comfortable working in a team

Possess an understanding of ISO 27001

Responsibilities include:

Taking into account the status and work of the organisation review the current organisation structure and function of the teams in relation to information security and cyber create an options paper with clear recommendations using best practice to aid recruitment activity

Make recommendations and draft collateral for inclusion in cyber and information security strategy from 2027-2030

Creation of an information security and cyber work programme taking into account the various initiatives projects and recommendations from internal and external audits.
