Position Overview
Operations Center team serves as the first point of contact for Boeing customers needing urgent technical support on maintaining/ operating Boeing commercial airplanes. The team works in a highly dynamic environment to: expeditiously resolve customer Service Requests (SRs); provide FAA compliance documentation; and report analyze and resolve technical/ safety events and issues.
Boeing India Engineering is currently looking for an Lead Systems Engineer - Operation Center to support Operations Center capability at Bangalore India. This position will focus on providing 24/7 support to Boeing commercial airplane customers. This position offers a unique opportunity to work complex technical challenges in support of safe operation and return to service.
Position Responsibilities:
Apply broad knowledge of Boeing airplane design and/or engineering principles to solve Urgent/AOG system issues
Solve technical operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer
Assess system failures and develops solutions for continued safe operation of aircraft
Design and/or provide analysis of interim and final engineering solutions to return airplanes to revenue service
Conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for nonconformances
Analyze reported problems for potential safety issues
Develop solutions utilizing sound engineering logic experience and published data
Collaborate with other support groups to develop solutions
Communicate with customers if additional information is needed or roadblocks arise
Perform review of the requests and determine the best avenue for resolution. Review outgoing messages for quality
Correspond confidently with Operators through Boeings Communication platform for customers/ E-mail/ IM/ Telephone
Act as point of contact for incoming calls and Customer Service Requests
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor degree in Engineering Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology) Computer Science Data Science Mathematics Physics Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
10-12 years related engineering experience
The position requires flexibility to work a nonstandard schedule which may include working on holidays and weekends and second or third shift hours to support the Boeing fleet operating in a 24/7/365 environment
The ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
B1 license on Boeing aircraft(s)
Experience working in Airlines/ MRO - MOC/MCC/AOG Handling
Minimum 8 years Extensive troubleshooting experience on Airplane & Engine systems APU and associated systems fitted on Boeing aircraft
Conversant with Boeing aircraft maintenance manuals - AMM FIM IPC SRM WDM CMM AHM and service documentation (FTD ADs SBs SLs etc.).
Conversant with My Boeing Fleet 737 787 Maintenance Performance Toolbox Airplane Health Management
Prior Customer Service Experience is a plus
Typical Education & Experience:
Engineering degree and 13 to 18 years related work experience OR a Masters degree and 11 to 16 years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
