Your ImpactatLAURIN
As Director of Operationsyou will be a key contributor to our project delivery and organizational with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals solve challenges and ensure every project meets ourhigh standardsof quality safety and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the executive team to develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive business growth and achieve companyobjectivesin theTorontomarket.
- Foster strong relationships with owners architects engineers trade partners and other key stakeholders.
- Assistin the development of long-term business plans and actively pursue new business opportunities to expand the companys project portfolio inToronto.
- Represent the company atTorontoindustry events trade shows and client meetings to enhance the companys presence in the market.
- Oversee the planning budgeting scheduling and execution of all construction projects to ensure they meet or exceed stakeholder expectations and align theTorontodistrict with companyobjectivesand goals.
- Manage project risk and work with Construction Managers Project Managers Superintendents to resolve roadblocks.
- Ensure that all construction projects are completed within scope time cost and quality parameters when in our control.
- Ensure project teams are staffed and supported for success.
- Lead mentor and develop the construction management team including project managers superintendents field crews and support staff and work with corporate toidentifyand train staff.
- Build a strong collaborative culture of teamwork and accountability ensuring all team members are aligned with company and project values and goals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through training mentorship direct feedback and professional development initiatives.
- Conduct regular performance reviews provide feedback and implement corrective actions when necessary to enhance team effectiveness.
- Monitor and provide feedback to Construction Managers on their project budgets ensuring alignment with the companys financial goals andidentifyingopportunities.
- Collaborate with the finance team to track revenue profitability and capital expenditure ensuringaccuratereporting and decision-making.
- Implement and enforce robust quality control processes across all projects ensuring work is executed to specification.
- Lead the companys safety program inToronto ensuring that safety protocols are strictly followed on all job sites minimizing incidents and ensuring compliance with OHSA and local safety regulations.
- Conduct safetyaudits andensure that all staff is trained in safety protocols.
- Cultivate andmaintainstrong long-term relationships with clients ensuring satisfaction and encouraging repeat business.
- Serve as a point of contact for major clients addressing any issues or concerns and ensuring a positive working relationship.
- Work with the estimating and pursuits department on proposals and bid closing in providing feedback on budget schedule site planning resource management to hone a successful pursuit outcome.
- Oversee the procurement of materials equipment and trade contractors ensuring we are partnering with the right firms for project success.
- Assist Construction Managers whererequiredto negotiate and manage contracts with trade contractors suppliers and vendors to ensure our partner selection is strong.
- Monitor subcontractor performance ensuring that work is completed on time andin accordance withsafety and quality requirements.
Qualifications
- 1015 years of progressive experience in commercial institutional industrial or mixeduse construction with at least 5 years in a senior operations construction management or district leadership role.
- Proven track record overseeing multiple concurrent projects ranging from midsize to large complex builds.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams (PMs supers coordinators field staff) across a portfolio of projects.
- Strong background in risk management contract negotiation and resolving project roadblocks.
- Prior experience in the Toronto construction market with established relationships among owners architects engineers and trade partners.
Education & Professional Credentials
- Degree or diploma in Engineering Construction Management Architecture Business Administration or related experience.
- Professional certifications such as P. Eng. . PMP LEED are considered assets.
Estimated Compensation
The salary range for this role is $180000 $220000 based on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed in your personalized offer.
