Software Development Engineer II, Codepipeline

AWS Codepipeline is seeking a well-rounded full-stack engineer who will be responsible for designing developing testing and deploying features that help customers automate their software delivery process. The successful candidate will work across our entire technology stack from backend services to user interfaces while collaborating with product managers designers and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions. We encourage candidates that are not proficient in the programming languages which we use to still apply provided they have strong coding skills and motivation to learn them quickly.

AWS Codepipeline is a part of AWS Utility Computing (UC) which provides product innovations from foundational services such as Amazons Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWSs services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization youll support the development and management of Compute Database Storage Internet of Things (Iot) Platform and Productivity Apps services in AWS including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Key job responsibilities
* Design and implement scalable features for AWS CodePipeline
* Write clean maintainable code in Java and TypeScript (React)
* Performing on-call duties and pro-actively proposing and implementing operational excellence improvements
* Participate in design reviews and own / contribute to technical architecture decisions
* Mentor junior engineers and contribute to teams technical direction
* Collaborate with product managers to refine requirements and deliver customer value

About the team
The Codepipeline service team is located in Amsterdam/The Netherlands and is part of the DevTools organisation within AWS. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures and were building an inclusive environment that enables growth and promotes knowledge sharing and mentorship. We are an autonomous team that takes end-to-end ownership and push boundaries in order to deliver the best experience for our customers. Our technical stack is predominantly Java on the backend and Typescript/React on the frontend and our architecture follows service-oriented design. As an engineering team we are builders and operators and thus have an on-call rotation that you will participate on.

- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java C or C# including object-oriented design

- Experience in delivering and maintaining GenAI capabilities using MCP clients/servers agents
- Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML CSS JS TypeScript and Node
