The University of Miami UHealth Pharmacy Department at SoLé Mia has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist - Per Diem.

CORE JOB SUMMARY

The PharmacistPRN compounds and dispenses prescribed drugs in a healthcare facility environment. Also an employee in this position transfers prescriptions handles incoming physician calls logs data into applicable databases and performs drug utilization review.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Implements and maintains procedures for mixing packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals according to policies and legal requirements to ensure quality security and proper disposal.

  • Compounds and dispenses medications as prescribed by doctors and dentists by calculating weighing measuring and mixing ingredients.

  • Calculates the volume of medication required to produce the desired results to ensure proper dosages.

  • Assesses the identity strength and purity of medications.

  • Reviews prescriptions to ensure accuracy ascertain the needed ingredients and evaluate suitability.

  • Provides information and advice regarding drug interactions side effects dosage and storage.

  • Analyzes prescription trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent inappropriate usage or harmful interactions.

  • Maintains records such as pharmacy and system files patient profiles inventories control records for radioactive nuclei and registries for poisons narcotics and controlled drugs.

  • Advises customers on the selection of medication brands medical equipment and healthcare supplies.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pharm.D. degree

  • Certification in relevant specialty or field

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

  • Skill in collecting organizing and analyzing data.

  • Ability to recognize analyze and solve a variety of problems.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
