POSITION SUMMARY & PURPOSE
The Instructional Coach having both content and instructional expertise will work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning and teacher practice. The Instructional Coach will focus on individual and group professional learning that will emphasize and assist standards-based planning and classroom instruction; assessment of student progress; and the advancement of Brookside Charter Schools mission vision and values.

- Build and maintain relationships with teachers administrators and students families with an eye toward working cooperatively to help students meet academic and other goals. (8.3)
Curriculum and Instruction
- Facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers with a focus on improving student achievement. (8.2)
- Maintain current and accurate curricular scope and sequences unit maps and resource inventory to ensure alignment with standards and support effective instructional planning.
- Communicate and demonstrate researched-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance. (3.3)
- Provide individualized classroom-based coaching with participants to support them in implementing good instructional practices. (2.4)
- Coach teachers on the preparation of standards-based programs of study that meet the individual needs interests and abilities of students. (3.1)
- Coach teachers to guide the learning process toward the achievement of clear learning goals for all lessons units and projects and communicate these goals to students. (3.3)
- Coach teachers to employ a variety of instructional techniques including media consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. (4.2)
- Create positive relationships with teachers and administrators. (9.1)
- React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned. (8.1)
- Confer with and seek assistance from school administrators regarding possible interventions for teachers who need additional support. (7.6)
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law school policy and administrative regulation. (8.3)
- Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms. (8.3)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
*All requirements listed below are required unless otherwise designated as preferred.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelors degree; advanced degree preferred.
- Missouri Teaching Certificate or eligible for certification.
Experience
- Experience teaching in an urban school environment is preferred.
- Experience teaching historically underserved populations (or historically marginalized populations) with a record of positive academic improvement is preferred.
Skills and Traits
- Proficiency in Google Suite.
- Candidate will be a passionate advocate for Brookside Charters mission and students.
- Candidate will have a deep internal passion for ensuring that students meet and exceed academic standards regardless of socioeconomic status race previous academic performance or other challenges.
- Candidate must be passionate about working towards educational equity and providing an excellent education for all students.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position may require sitting standing and walking for intermittent periods as well as moderate dexterity in operating standard office equipment (e.g. computer printer copier).
- This position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision hearing and speaking.
