How youll contribute
Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist the physical therapist assistant provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop recover and maintain physical mobility/function.
Reports to: Director of Physical Therapy
APhysical Therapist Assistant (PTA)who excels in this role:
- Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.
- Monitors patients responses to the treatment plan.
- Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
- Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
- Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
- Assists with patient discharge planning.
- Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.

Applicants should have an associates degree/graduate of a physical therapy assistant program. Additional requirements include:
Active and valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state of Kansas
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
