Responsibilities
Provides a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties to assist with the planning/management/coordination of the departments overall objective. Position is characterized by the need for initiative and the ability to problem solve. Position is characterized by the ability to prioritize and organize multiple assignments. Must be able to tactfully and effectively communicate hospital policies and procedures medical staff policies bylaws rules and regulations to physicians executives patients and other individuals both within and outside the hospital.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
1. At least one (1) year of medical credentialing medical staff services or other healthcare
experience
2. Demonstrated knowledge of business correspondence.
3. Demonstrated ability to prioritize organize exercise independent judgement and
maintain confidentiality.
4. Demonstrated problem solving and decision making abilities.
5. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
7. Proficiency in the use and application of personal computers and word processing
database and spreadsheet software programs.
8. Ability to maintain tact and diplomacy
9. High School graduate or equivalent
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:
1. One (1) or two (2) years college education or equivalent
2. Previous experience communicating with physicians or other health care professionals
3. Certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) is encouraged
