Job Summary
Our team is seeking an Environmental Specialist responsible for managing environmental compliance at Amazon Transportation. The Environmental Specialist will complete environmental inspections and performance analyses monitors metrics undertakes waste activities for the site and facilitates site implementation of Amazons environmental standards.

**This is an onsite/in person role**
Key job responsibilities
Site execution of environmental procedures and ensure compliance with all applicable federal state regional and local regulations;
- Manage and execute site responsibilities to comply with air emissions surface water wastewater waste and other environmental related laws regulations and permits;
- Manage and prepare site-specific environmental reporting to regulators and within Amazon;
- Manage and execute waste activities classification reporting and permitting requirements;
- Execute waste and surface water site inspections;
- Monitor and provide guidance on site performance against applicable environmental regulations programs and Amazon global standards;
- Analyze environmental metrics and review weekly and monthly trends to determine where improvements are needed;
- Execute site-specific tasks associated with the implementation of Environmental Program Assessment;
- Support in measuring and analyzing sites performance against requirements in environmental procedures and identify a plan for the site to remedy all deficiencies;
- Execute relevant environmental procedures as dictated by business and regulatory needs;
- Support in evaluating and developing process improvements for identified risks;
- Aid in facilitating root cause analyses for all environmental incidents and recommend appropriate corrective actions for network implementation;
- Identify and implement corrective actions to eliminate any observed or at-risk non-compliance scenarios.

The Environmental Specialist will assist in implementation and enforcement of standards and policies to support environmental and regulatory compliance and provide guidance for operations maintenance and construction teams.
About the team
The Environmental Assurance and Protection team protects Amazon businesses and supports the needs of our customers by proactively mitigating environmental regulatory risks and protecting the environment.
- Bachelors degree;
- Expertise serving as an environmental technical resource environmental specialist;
- Knowledge of federal state and municipal regulations;
- Experience engaging with Regulatory Agencies;
- Availability to work in-person all work days;
- Advanced English and fluent Portuguese.
- Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Science
- Broad knowledge of BR and local environmental regulations;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics;
- Experience profiling and managing hazardous and non hazardous waste;
- Experience in warehouse operations and logistics will be a differential.
- Advanced English and fluent Portuguese.
