As a Security Officer - Part-Time Security Screening in Fort Lauderdale FL you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to location staff and visitors by carrying out security-related screening procedures site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Screen individuals belongings and/or deliveries at designated checkpoints using approved methods and equipment and verify identification and access authorization as required.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including assisting with de-escalation and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas checkpoints and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
- Complete required logs incident reports and screening documentation and communicate observations and handoff information to Allied Universal supervision and location contacts.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have 3 years of combined law enforcement military and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
- Be 21 years of age.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
