Summit Technologies Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Audio Visual Systems Engineer to provide enterprise-level Audio Visual Lighting and Video Conferencing (AVL-VC) engineering support across a large Army installation at Fort Sill OK. This senior-level role is responsible for sustainment operational oversight modernization planning and technical engineering of approximately 425 classrooms conference rooms auditoriums and senior leadership facilities. The ideal candidate will bring strong AV system configuration expertise network troubleshooting capability and experience supporting DoD environments. This position provides a high-visibility opportunity to support mission-critical training senior leadership engagements and enterprise AVL-VC modernization initiatives across a major Army installation. Your expertise will directly impact operational readiness executive communications and installation-wide digital infrastructure reliability. Candidates must be eligible for a DoD Secret Clearance.
Key Responsibilities
AVL-VC Systems Engineering & Sustainment
- Serve as the primary Audio Visual Systems Engineer for installation-wide AVL-VC systems.
- Ensure the COR is notified within four (4) hours of any system deficiencies preventing performance as designed.
- Sustain and operate AVL-VC systems across:
- 425 classrooms conference rooms and auditoriums
- 10 videoconferencing-enabled facilities
- Maintain Senior Leadership AVL-VC systems in fully operational status at all times.
- Repair within 5 working days (or obtain COR-approved delay).
- Sustain non-Senior Leadership systems.
- Repair within 10 calendar days (or obtain COR-approved delay).
System Configuration & Technical Expertise
- Configure and support AV systems including:
- Crestron
- AMX
- Extron
- Biamp
- Matrix mixers and switchers
- Troubleshoot wired and wireless data networks supporting AVL-VC systems.
- Develop formal problem statements for network support staff as required.
- Provide user training on AVL-VC system operations and maintenance.
Strategic Planning & Modernization
- Develop post-wide sustainment operations and enhancement plans.
- Conduct needs assessments and site surveys across the installation.
- Develop conceptual system designs and cost estimates.
- Provide technical input to G6 for RFQ development.
- Support engagement with MICC and assist with oversight of technology system upgrades and projects.
Event Support & Operational Oversight
- Participate in planning meetings for large special events.
- Develop event support plans for COR approval.
- Remain onsite during major events to operate or supervise AVL-VC systems to ensure flawless execution.
Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain daily logs of work performed.
- Create and track SharePoint FCP and AESMP tickets until resolution.
- Provide monthly COR reports (submitted first normal duty day of each month).
- Propose work log format within 30 days of task order award.
- Cover down on Audio Visual Specialist duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Systems Engineering Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of progressive AV systems engineering experience.
- Experience configuring enterprise AV control systems (Crestron AMX Extron Biamp).
- Strong knowledge of projection display systems sound systems lighting control and videoconferencing.
- Experience troubleshooting network infrastructure supporting AV systems.
- Ability to develop conceptual designs and cost estimates.
- Strong documentation reporting and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting DoD or Army installations.
- Familiarity with MICC processes and RFQ technical documentation support.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams or other VTC platforms.
- Experience supporting senior leadership conference facilities.
- DoD 8570/8140 certification (Security etc.).
