Position Overview
The Career Advisor serves as a key workforce development professional responsible for guiding participants toward sustainable employment outcomes. This role provides comprehensive case management facilitates job readiness workshops ensures contract compliance and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to drive measurable placement results. The ideal candidate thrives in a structured compliance-driven environment while maintaining a strong client-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Case Management
- Establish professional one-on-one relationships with participants to identify and eliminate barriers to obtaining and retaining employment.
- Conduct individualized assessments and develop action-oriented employment plans.
- Provide ongoing case management follow-up services and attendance intervention strategies.
- Maintain detailed case notes and organized participant records in accordance with funding requirements.
- Ensure participants follow through with required activities and contractual obligations.
- Complete post-placement contacts as required by contract guidelines.
- Provide referrals to community and social service agencies when appropriate.
Program Administration & Compliance
- Conduct new participant orientations and manage enrollment documentation accurately and timely.
- Assist in preparation of participation and placement reports.
- Maintain organized databases and ensure documentation is audit-ready.
- Provide operational support to ensure compliance with funding agency standards.
- Support intake services and assist with center-wide compliance initiatives.
Workshop Facilitation & Program Management
- Facilitate professional development and job preparation workshops.
- Coordinate introductory workshops and manage weekly training sessions.
- Ensure curriculum remains business-driven high quality and aligned with employer hiring needs.
- Manage grant issuance according to allocation targets and track placement data.
- Collaborate with the Business Services team to align workshops and training with available job opportunities and market demands.
Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain communication plans to keep staff informed of center-wide objectives.
- Participate in training capacity building and professional development initiatives.
- Identify operational challenges and partner with leadership to implement process improvements.
- Provide program coverage and operational support as needed.
- Perform additional duties reasonably related to job responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Education Social Services Healthcare Communications or a related field.
- Minimum two years of experience in career advisement workforce development curriculum development workshop facilitation and public speaking.
- Strong case documentation and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a contract-driven environment.
- Excellent written verbal and telephone communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability in environments with multiple stakeholders and evolving priorities.
- Professional knowledge of diverse career pathways ideally including healthcare occupations.
- Strong customer service orientation.
