Basic Job Functions:
Responsibilities for a structural welder include but are not limited to:
- Welding steel structural parts as specified per drawings or prints.
- Operating grinder to prepare and finish welds.
- Operating overhead flip-rite cranes transfers and magnetic drills.
- Full visual inspection of parts ensuring all welds are in place and properly applied.
- Effectively communicating with upstream and downstream customers to address safety quality and efficiency issues/concerns.
- Obtain and maintain the GMAW 2G welding certification.
- Properly perform and pass NDT welds and inspections as required.
- Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Buildings Group Texas will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

Minimum Qualifications:
- WQ1 (2G) weld certifications.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Can read and understand weld symbols.
- Can use an arc gouger.
- Previous crane certification.
- Previous experience in material handling.
