Job Summary

Mycolever is an innovative TechBio/Biotech startup dedicated to discovering and delivering sustainable bioactive ingredients for the consumer care sector and beyond. We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack Software Developer with experience in cloud deployments and who combines data engineering and software development skills. Bonus points if you have an interest or background in Biotech. You will develop the core infrastructure of our discovery platform - linking biodata from genomes to chemical structures implement software and AI/ML-powered analytics in the cloud drive software and database architecture and pipeline development.

Tasks

Develop and maintain a cloud-based biocompound discovery platform.
Design and implement data flows from internal and external sources.
Support the design and implementation of cloud-native databases.
Contribute to the design and implementation of user-friendly and scalable front-end applications and own the cloud deployment.
Ensure the platform is scalable secure and user-friendly.
Stay on top of the latest advancements in software engineering principles platform technologies AI/ML to continually improve the platform.
Collaborate with biologists chemists chem-/bioinformaticians and data scientists to integrate their insights into the platform.
Identify and develop discovery services for customers leading to paid collaboration projects or licensing opportunities for discovered compounds.
Integrate data and learning from high-throughput validations in the lab environment into the platform.

Requirements

3 years of full-stack software development experience with an interest in learning about biological data biotechnology bioinformatics cheminformatics etc.
Proven experience as a software developer and product owner in complex B2B software or services in an agile (Scrum) environment.
Experience in cloud deployments to Google Cloud AWS or Azure and with containerization tools like Docker. Terms such as role-based user permissions or Infrastructure as Code should at least be familiar to you.
Strong programming skills in Python and one front-end framework such as javascript typescript or react. Knowing another scripting or object-oriented language is a plus.
Experience in data engineering using technologies such as Databricks Airflow Nextflow or other ETL / ELT frameworks. Experience deploying cloud databases or data lakes is also appreciated.
Familiar with development tools and version control with git) particularly Jira Confluence GitHub / GitLab and CI/CD.
Familiarity with user authentication with OAuth AWS Cognito or related tools.
(Optional) Familiarity with data visualization libraries (Plotly Matplotlib D3 or Bokeh).
(Optional) Familiarity with bioinformatics workflows data standards (e.g. FASTA GenBank SDF) and biological databases.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Important note:

Mycolever has offices in Rheinbach/Bonn and Munich.
We are open for remote or hybrid work however country of residency has to be Germany due to government grants.
